Case Study: Finishing a 2700-Square-Foot Basement for a Newly Built Home in Purcellville
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Loudoun County Kitchen Bath Basement & More worked with homeowners in Purcellville, Virginia, who wanted to finish their 2700-square-foot basement. This single-family home was a new construction build completed less than six months ago on a 12-acre lot.
The home builder wouldn’t do exactly what the homeowners wanted for the basement, so they chose to go with another contractor for the finishing process. The homeowners wanted to make the basement functional for their five children and make it a place to entertain, complete with a custom bar.
PROJECT DELIVERABLES
Our remodeling team designed the basement bar, bathrooms, and separate rooms for the space and provided the client with custom design renderings. We applied for and secured permits from Loudoun County before starting the work.
According to the homeowner’s needs, we built:
- One full bath and one powder room
- Two bedrooms
- A large day room with a custom bar (12 feet along the wall and 9 feet on the island)
The homeowners also wanted the basement to include a kitchenette with a sink, dishwasher, fridge, microwaves, and cabinetry.
Quartz countertops, recessed lighting, and luxury vinyl plank flooring completed the basement. The homeowners now have a finished custom basement that meets all their needs and is a large space where the kids can play and the adults can entertain.
PROJECT TIMELINE AND OUTCOME
As the basement was quite large, the project took about seven weeks to complete from start to finish. The client was very satisfied with the work and happy with the newly finished basement to complete their beautiful new home.
